Dear Mr. and Mrs. Tracey,

We wanted to write and say thank you for the blankets, Christmas decorations and treats that you and your staff sent.  It is heartening for every member of the unit to know that the American people, and particularly the Gardner-White Furniture team are supportive of the Military, this unit and its Soldiers. We would also like to pass on a special thanks to Maggie who, as we understand it, was the manager in charge of organizing the collection and shipment of these items.

You and your staff's efforts are much appreciated by our Soldiers and we are honored by your actions.  We recognize that your gifts were given our of generosity and as an act of kindness and support for the American Soldier.  This support means more to us than many will ever understand.  For those of us who serve, we do so primarily because we have families too and recognize the importance of living in a free society.  The real heroes are those of you who make America what it is-the most generous and greatest nation on earth; what we do in the military is simply try and protect what you do on a daily basis.

As a token of our appreciation for you kind gesture, please accept this American flag that was flown by the unit in an AH-64D Apache over Baghdad on 20 January 2008.  We hope that you too will fly it with the pride associated with being an American.

Again, thank-you for your support, but more importantly, thank-you for what you do every day.

Sincerely,

Kenneth T. Royar,

Michigan Humane Society 2008 Telethon

Img_4016_boomerlosey_2 You can share the love this Valentine’s Day by tuning in to WXYZ-TV Channel 7 from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. They will feature adoptable animals, stories of animal rescues and more information on how MHS helps animals in the community.

Gardner-White is proud to be a sponsor of this fund-raising event. As a family-focused furniture store we realize how important our pets become - they are members of the family too!

The furniture shown on air is the Voyage Chocolate sofa, Utterly armless chairs and Paris dining room chairs. All items are covered in an easy-care, durable microfiber. We've found that microfiber can be the perfect fit for pet-friendly homes. Feel free to stop by any Gardner-White and ask to see some of our featured microfiber sets.

Happy Endings

Gardner-White would like to thank all of our customers and employees who joined Volunteers of America to participate in the Adopt-A-Family program. From the generous monetary donations to the gifts -- your help made this program a great success.

As part of this program, the staff at our Warren location (8 Mile Road and Groesbeck) adopted a local family and made sure they all received Christmas presents. "It was such a great experience for the entire staff - plus it just made you feel good to do something for someone else," said Shawn Lakey, store manager. "We were able to spend some time with the family and experience the joy of opening presents with them."

We'd also like to thank FOX2 for helping us recruit volunteers. To watch video from the kick-off event on www.myfoxdetroit.com click here.

Helping the Community - Volunteers of America

Voalogomi_side_br_c

This year Gardner-White was happy to help facilitate the Adopt-A-Family program with Volunteers of America.

The goal was to help 3,000 families get adopted and currently we have 2,200. Still 800 to go. If you're interested in more information or would like to adopt a family, contact Volunteers of America directly http://www.voami.org/.

You can also make cash donations at any Gardner White location or drop off new toys, clothes and gifts for families in need.
